So I was pretty bored in school and I decided to do some youtube hopping...
(cos that was actually one of the only few entertainment I can get with the sch limited access)...
LOL

and I came across the video from "Wong Fu Productions"
they can an official site too: http://wongfuproductions.com/
aspiring young directors,
started off with youtube video making...
they had a lot of nice videos actually,
and they're making movie...
so yupp,
you can check out their channel,
if you don't already know them!

anw,
so I came across this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_857204829&feature=iv&src_vid=m7x57zvZLvI&v=g0vwo_TvFPQ

it's kinda true that,
if the person you fancy in did the things you like,
it will be like:
"OHMYTIAN!!! THIS IS SO SWEET! AWW..."
but if the person you didn't like did that,
you will be like:
"OHMYTIAN!!!THIS IS...(insert your own)...EWW... "

in a way,
it's very reflective,
and hilariously sad but true that most girls are like that?
but definitely not all girls!
hahaha

thinking back,
I realised,
I do appreciate every simple or sweet gesture from anybody and everybody...
a least,
it's the thought and effort that counts...
and I think it's really very lucky of me (and applicable to anyone else) to be loved,
not the romantic way,
but general love,
be it friends,
family,
or strangers...
we should be grateful of what we have!
less complain,
and be more appreciative...
you will be a happier person!

on a side not:
I am grateful to meet this new bunch of funny and supportive friends,
during my practicum period...
their presence really make days in school more enjoyable and endurable!

How long have I not been blogging?
superrrrr duperrrrr looooooong!
I rmb coming to ntu,
thinking I will have all the time on earth to blog,
to update every social media platform,
leading a "carefree life"...
and thus joining everything I wanted,
without thinking...
hahaha
how wrong am I!
ever since nie started last sem,
I'm like a juggler,
juggling everything- school, uoc, cheer, jam band, blk rep, teachings
really carefully...
just a moment of diversion of attention will cause everything to go crashing down...

insearchofafairytaleending.blogspot.com

how I long for a day of carefree-ness,
a day which I can just rest and do nothing...
a day that belong to me which I can just be myself...
a day which can spend a whole day of quality time with my family...
a day that I can do whatever I like without having to worry about my assignments, presentations, essays, quizzes etc...

however,
at the back of mind,
I know that if given a choice again,
I probably would still lead the life I'm leading now...
times and again I doubted myself,
doubted my decision,
but every time when I feel so tired,
something nice will surface and gave me the assurance that,
"hey, don't give up. your effort is appreciated =)) "

on a side note,
maybe I have to pull out of camp,
or maybe my studies will suspended,
if my ttsh appt can't be change to after july 26 or before august 12th...
life,
thanks for being so full of obstacles...
and I sincerely meant it as sarcasm!!!

UOC,
or "Union Orientation Camp" for long...
is an annual orientation camp,
organized by NTU's student union for the freshies...

after spending 2 years of going NIE on a weekly basis,
am I still considered as a freshie?
maybe?
since this is my first "full time" year in NIE...
haha
I just signed up for it,
anw...
LOL

partly because,
I have always wanted to join an orientation camp...
yes,
I have been through a lot of camps,
from Leadership camps,
to Chinese and Cultural camps,
and EVEN Orientation camp as ORIENTATION LEADER...
but no,
I have NEVER join ANY orientation camp as a "freshie" before,
from secondary school to JC,
not even in nafa (as they don't have camp during our batch)...
how ironic right???
hahaha
so I would really like to know the feeling of going to camp as a freshie,
not knowing what's going on,
all blur,
with anticipation,
and the like!!!
haha =DD

and the other reason being,
this is the FIRST EVER camp that I will be attending WITH MY SISTER!!!
not the kind that one of us as leader,
the other one as participant,
but
BOTH as FRESHIE (I consider myself as one larr...haha)!!!
cool or what right!!!
hahahaha
what are the odds of "crossing path" with your own sister,
in term of studies,
esp when we are like 4 years apart?
other than we would be able to attend pri sch tgt (like she pri 1 and I pri 5 kind),
possibility of us meeting in sch again is very low...
let alone saying,
joining camp toghether as freshie!!!

maybe to the one reading now,
you may think,
what so "glorious" about it?
yes,
I totally agree,
it's not sth "glorious" to be actually going as a "freshie" with your younger sister,
and yes,
I admit,
on this academic route,
I detoured a lot...
(but it was part of my dream to be going through studies in all form...
pri sch,
sec sch,
jc,
poly,
and uni!!!
if I can experience ITE,
I wouldn't mind too...
I just think my parents will kill me...
LOL)
after my A level,
I left the mainstream track of going uni,
but decided to go nafa instead,
to pursue my music dream...
(and my parents almost "fainted" when I told them,
just imagine what will happen if I tell them I want to go ITE?
LOL)
yes,
with my A level cert,
I could have chosen YST instead,
it was a long decision,
shan't go into in depth now...
maybe another time?
=))

anw,
so yupp,
yes,
I've spent a long time,
but no,
I've never regret my decision,
not even once yet...
haha
and bcos of my detoured,
I can be "freshie" with my sis!!!
how cool will it be if we are going to the same course too...
*obsessive*
LOL

after all,
You Only Live Once!!!
why care about what the others think???
they can judge me for all I care,
as long as I am not doing anything illegal/harmful to others,
and I am happy with no regret!!!

YOLO rox!!!
hahahahahahaha

anw,
back to "pre camp feeling"...
going to camp from Sunday to Saturday (21-26 July 2013)
having mix feeling now...
excited yet nervous...
I'm exited to be going UOC,
but nervous that I can't blend in with the group...
I scare I will be quiet and reserve...
I scare I am not fun enough...
what if my group mates outcaste me?!?
(*insert OMG horrendous face*)
how hoW HOW???
=((

On Sunday,
I went to Plaza Singapura again for the Watson's sale(went once on Saturday but didn't get much)...
and bought a lot of things...
spending a total of $85.50!!!
not including my Saturday's Watson spending- $55.50,
and at the POMO's Watson- $15.50 (as its house brand girls' necessity is on one-for-one offer...oops)
LOL
I'm quite sure I can qualified for Watson's and Daiso's VIP customer loyalty card,
that is,
if they have such things...
LOL

anyway,
so my biggest haul from this sale is of cos...
*taadaa*

my HADA LABO products!!!
hahahaha

This are the things I bought:

The Hyaluronic Acid drink....

it claims:
"low-calorie, sugar-free beauty collagen drink,
formulated with Hyaluronic Acid + Hyaluron-Up and other ingredients to boost skin hydration from the inside out..."

exclusively retailing at Watson,
3 bottles at $13.50 (U.P)...
but,
I got it at $9.90!!!
hahaha =DD

(from left to right)
1) Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Wash (retailing at $12.90),
it claims:
"Ethanol free,
Fragrance free,
Mineral Oil free,
no artificial color and mild...
contain 2 types of
Hyaluronic Acid..
Hyaluronic acid : Could moisture our first layer of skin ( Epiderm )
-Improved Hyaluronic Acid : Could moisture our second layer of skin / deeper skin moisture ( Epiderm ) "

2) Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Milk (retailing at $22.90)
it claims:
"Moisturizes deeply,
offering nourishing hydration and skin-smoothing conditioners,
Skin becomes smoother,
softer and richly hydrated,
giving it a natural,
healthy looking glow,
It is free of fragrances,
mineral oil,
alcohol and colorant,
Skin pH balanced,
Low irritation..."

and like it's super hyaluronic acid hydrating series,
it contains:
" - Nano Hyaluronic Acid : with molecules size of 1/20 of HA, easily penetrates into the skin innermost layer to deeply moisturize the skin.
 - Super Hyaluronic Acid : with 2x the moisture retention capacity of HA to keep skin hydrated & smooth for a longer period of time.
- Hyaluronic Acid(HA) : 1gm is able to hold 6 litres of water, effectively locks-in moisture on skin."

the SA said that ONE drop is enough for the WHOLE face!!!
sound like a pretty good lasting deal huh?
hehe
=PP

3) Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion (retailing at $22.90)
it claims:
"Contains
- Arbutin: to fight dark spots. Smoothes & clarifies to optimize skin’s radiance & translucency.
- Vitamin C: helps skin recover from accumulated sun damage while reducing the appearance of dark spots to give clearer, fairer skin.
- Hyaluronic Acid : to hydrate intensely, keeping skin soft & supple."

and like all other Hada Labo products,
it is:
"Skin pH balanced,
Low irritation,
Free of fragrances,
mineral oil,
alcohol and colorant"

anw,
the SA said that TWO drop is enough,
sound worth it..
=))

and for the sale,
I got all 3 for $49 (U.P $58.70)
=PP
you can mix and match:
face wash + lotion (hydrating or whitening) + milk (hydrating or whitening)
at the price of $49!!!

of cos,
the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion refill pack is an additional buy,
which I got it at $15.90 (U.P $18.90)!!!
^-^

sale is always so good...
but of cos,
if your skin is good,
you probably don't even need to spend on any?
like my elder sis,
who got such baby skin when she is already 28(btw, she looks just like 18 or younger)!!!
*envious much*
 =))

This is probably the star buy of the sale!!!
I got this set at $19.90!!!
can you believe it?!?
the set contains a Retinol Lifting + Firming lotion,
a traveler size Retinol Lifting + Firming cream,
and traveler size Retinol Lifting + Firming milk!!!
the Retinol Lifting + Firming lotion is already retailing at $25...
$25 worr!!!
how is this not the MOST WORTH IT buy?!?
muahahahaha =DD
but this is however,
not for me...
I got it for my mummy!
^-=

and did I mention that,
I am a sucker for free gifts???
opps...
typical Singaporean yo...
hahahaha

so other then sale,
the other reason that got me buying are the generous amount of free gifts!!!
*taadaa*

but no doubt,
the SA of the Hada Labo booth,
at the Watson sale,
is very friendly and generous!!!
Thank you!!!
^-^

I got a Mentholatum moisturizing Lip gel (left),
and two grape lip balms
=))

Hada Labo super hyaluronic acid hydrating series traveler size face wash,(left)
lotion (center),
and sample size lotion (right)...

Two Hada Labo super hyaluronic acid hydrating masks

and last but not least,
Three Hada Labo super hyaluronic acid hydrating cleansing oil (make up remover) sample...
the one I got is for heavy make up,
there is another one for light make up
=))

This is basically my Hada Labo haul from the Watson's sale...
hahaha
as for the review of each individual items,
I will only write up after using for a period  of time (say 1 month?),
long enough to give my two cents worth of objective reviews...

so
stay tuned till then =))

So yesterday i went to watch the Broadway Musical- Jersey Boys...
good musical i must say (review is done in my previous post)
go catch it if you haven't!!!
(from now till 17 February 2012)

and after the musical,
Sihui sugggest we go and take photos at the newly set up"photo booth" in MBS.

It is a permanent social media booth called "The Social Pavillion",
located at Promenade South of The Shoppes.
so basically,
you just enter,
key in your email address,
and choose 2 of your desired backgrounds,
from the 8 customized backgrounds.

then you stand in front of the green backdrop,
and pose for 2 different photos.
then you choose your favorite photo from the two you took,
and *taadaa*
one hard copy of your photo will be developed,
and a soft copy will be sent to your email.
=))
and all these photos taken will be compiled into a Facebook album of MBS's Facebook page,
and people can view and tag themsleves.

the first one we took is totally "OMG"
cos we didnt know there's a time limit (it works like a neoprint machine),
so it snapped the photo while the 5 of us are styling our hairs,
checking our appearance etc. (didnt manage to the a photo of that, i/m sure you'll laugh =.=)
we were caught so unawared,
so you can totally imaigine how candid we are
LOL

and second one was better

though our standing arrangement was abit uneven...
hahahah

and since there was no one,
we decided to go in for another round of photos.

and this time round,
we posed for a "candid" shot

trying to act like we are "drowning"...
opps...
hahaha

and a final proper one

this is nice,
cos we look more "centralised"
haha  =))

so yupp,
if you happened to go MBS (to eat, shop, watch musical, stay etc.),
you can go and take a look and have your photos taken,
and leave a photographic memory with your friends and/or family at MBS.
=))

With the complimentary tickets given,
I went to watch the musical "Jersey Boys" with my friends today.
(and that is like one of the benefits to study in a music college...
you get to get "A reserve" complimentray ticket,
which worth $165 each!!!
hahaha =DD )

so here's a little background:

JERSEY BOYS...
is a jukebox musical with,
music by Bob Gaudio,
lyrics by Bob Crewe and
book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Rick Elice even interviewed Valli, Gaudio, and DeVito in writing the play, and pieced together Nick Massi's point of view based on those interviews,
as Massi died before the play was written).
It is a documentary-style musical,
based on one of the most successful 1960s rock 'n roll groups,
The Four Seasons.
The musical opened on Broadway in 2005, and has since had a North American National Tour, along with productions in London's West End, Las Vegas, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne, Sydney, Philadelphia, Auckland, Brisbane and currently in Singapore.
The Broadway production of Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor (for John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli), Best Featured Actor (for Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito), and Best Lighting Design and Best Musical.
(information courtesy to Jersey Boy and The Four Seasons (band) Wikipedia)

Well,
initially when i started watching,
i didn't really understand what is going on,
as we missed the beginning  (rachael and i was late for 10min  =.=),
abit too fast pace for me to catch up.
but i must comment this,
they are really very professional that,
they change from one scene to another in a very quick, swift and professional manner (duh, is broadway production leh...lol)...
plus,
no lack time,
so everything is very pack and tight,
from one scene to another.
*thumbs up*

after watching for a few scenes,
i started to settle into the show,
and understand and enjoy thereafter.

and i espesically love some of the songs feactured in the musical,
such as a score of Seasons' hits like "Can't Take My Eyes Off You,"
"Sherry,"
"Walk Like a Man,"
"My Eyes Adored You,"
"Working My Way Back to You,"
"Dawn (Go Away)" and "Big Girls Don't Cry."

so basically,
"Jersey Boys" tells the real-life story of how four blue-collar kids from Jersey,
became one of the greatest successes in pop music history.
Four Seasons,
made up of Frankie Valli,
Bob Gaudio,
Tommy DeVito and
Nick Massi,
wrote their own songs,
invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records globally,
all before they turned 30.

the story dramatizes the forming,
rise and eventual break-up of the original four members of The Four Seasons.
The musical is separated into four "seasons",
each narrated by a different member of the band.
Act 1 comprises Spring (Tommy DeVito) & Summer (Bob Gaudio);
Act 2 comprises Fall (Nick Massi) & Winter (Frankie Valli);
each member reflecting theirs perspective on the band (history) and his contribution.

The actual Four Seasons band

I think the person who touched(not literally) me most is the "reflection" of Valli.
He tells that he gained fame and success in his music career (which is something he loves doing),
at the cost of his marriage and family,
making him loss his duties and responsibilities as a husband,
and as a dad.
I guess the most saddening thing would be his eventual divorce with Mary and,
the death of his daughter, Francine, due to overdose of drug.

I cannot really imagine if i grow up without my dad,
as in,
i have a dad yet i don't even get to see him like most of the times, just like Francine?
though my dad is naggy at times,
strict in regards to our studies,
stubborn on some occassions,
but,
he's always there when we are "in trouble" (not that we have ever been in big trouble before, like beating people up or sth)
and most importantly,
he LOVES US so much,
EVEN MORE THAN he loves himself,
and just this point,
it wins hand down to any other good points or bad points i could think of!
Really!
so you tell me,
how can i imagine living without my dad!!!
though we are not wealthy (in term of monetary),
but our family is just as comfortable and blissful (in my opinion).
I am really thankful to have a dad,
who can give us a such a comfortable life yet spending just as much time with us when we are growing up.

So,
well I guess,
if we are not ready to be a responsible and dutiful husband/wife,
father/mother,
not only in term of bringing enough or more pennies back to the family,
but also able to spend enough quality time with our spouse/family,
then,
don't ever start a family.

ok,
that's not the moral of the musical,
and i side tracked super lots
=XX

The "Four Seasons" cast in the Jersey Boys

well,
all in all,
i enjoyed the musical,
in a way,
admire the "Four Seasons" spirit,
the never-give-up spirit,
even after so much obstacles...
it's this spirit that led them to their eventual success!!!
Perhaps,
that's the spirit of people from Jersey?
haha
deep in my heart,
i really admire and salute this kinda people-
able to give up everything and give in everything for chasing their dream,
making it into a reality!!!
sometimes,
i just hope i also have the courage to give up everything,
and chase after my dream,
realising it!!!
=))
but at the end of the day,
do remember,
your family is important,
so is communication between people,
esp friends.
=))

anw,
Starting from 20 November 2012,
"Jersey Boys" will be staged daily from Tuesday to Sunday (Tuesday - Friday: 8pm ; Saturday & Sunday: 2pm & 8pm),
for a 14-week season (20 Nov 2012 - 17 Feb 2013).
Tickets are priced at $55, $85, $125, $165, $230 and are available at the Marina Bay Sands Box Offices (Museum, Theaters, SkyPark, Retail Mall and Hotel Tower 1 and 3 Lobby) and Sistic.

The musical is approx 2hour and 30 min,
with 20 min interval,
at Sand theatre of the newly renamed Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands.

So if you're a fan of oldies,
and/or a fan of the 60s rock band= "Four Seasons",
or simply a musical lover,
then this musical is a MUST CATCH!!!
=))

and i shall end my post with a video on Highlights From "Jersey Boys" on Broadway 2011
